7 Awesome Non-Toxic Kids Clothing Brands

If you weren’t already aware, a lot of the clothes you buy for your kids are toxic. The problem is, the big retailers don’t seem to care. Studies have found children’s clothing made in China to contain things like lead, formaldehyde, and phthalates; and the big children’s retailers like Disney, GAP, and H&M have been tested to show many of their clothes contain the same toxins (with clothing manufactured all around the world). Then there’s the widespread use of chemical flame retardants in children’s products, which include much of children’s clothing. Scary stuff.

So where can you buy clothes that aren’t chalk full of toxic chemicals? Here’s a list of the best sites I’ve found that sell non-toxic, chemical free children’s clothing. I’m only listing brands here that are fully transparent about what their clothes are made of, where they’re made, how they’re made, and are dedicated to providing toxin-free, sustainable clothing for our little ones. Organic made clothes must be backed up with a certification from The USDA National Organic Program, The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), or The Organic Trade Association (OTA). In other words, I’m being very picky with what gets included on this list; and rightfully so, since we’re talking about our kids.
